Woodquay Market

Woodquay’s Country Market has a long history, rich with tradition, dating as far back as 1890. Originally established around Market Street and Lombard Street, the market grew in size each year until it was eventually relocated to a spacious Woodquay. Farmers from Menlo would travel along the River Corrib to sell their potatoes and other produce such as eggs, butter and turf to Galway city dwellers. The Woodquay Country Market makes a welcome return for the 5th Galway Food Festival and will operate on Saturday 26 th March from 10am to 6pm. This year’s market boasts an impressive line-up of quality food producers selling the finest in  and handmade cheeses, to jams, cakes, smoothies and freshly ground coffee and includes the following stalls
